Greenhouse films

United Plastic Industries (UPI) is committed to providing high-quality products backed by a genuine guarantee that ensures customer satisfaction and continued performance, according to the type of product and the specified usage period.

United Plastic Industries (UPI) is committed to providing greenhouse covering films that are characterized by consistent quality and the use of reliable raw materials, with the application of precise control systems during all stages of production. It is a highly transparent film designed to cover greenhouses, characterized by excellent tensile strength and tear resistance, with an extended service life that may reach—depending on thickness and nature of use—several consecutive growing seasons. The film’s composition is designed by adding a range of specialized additives such as UV stabilizers, thermal control materials, and others.

Warranty

UPI offers a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects for its greenhouse films, provided that the recommended storage, installation, and use instructions are followed. The warranty covers maintaining the film’s essential mechanical and physical properties, such as flexibility and shrinkage rate, within permissible limits throughout the warranty period, under normal operating conditions.

AGRI Greenhouse Variations

UPI offers a range of greenhouse covering films under the greenhouse brand, to meet the requirements of modern farming systems, and mainly includes two main types of formulations:

LLDPE Greenhouse Films

Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) films are among the most widely used materials for greenhouse coverings due to their excellent balance of durability, flexibility, and strength.

High tensile and tear resistance:
The LLDPE structure provides excellent resistance to mechanical stresses such as wind, cover tension, and friction with metal structures, contributing to a longer film lifespan.

Ideal flexibility during installation:
The combination of strength and flexibility allows the cover to be tightly stretched over the greenhouse structure, minimizing the likelihood of tears or punctures during installation or use.

UV stability:
LLDPE films are enhanced with advanced UV stabilizers that reduce polyethylene degradation from prolonged sun exposure, preserving the film’s properties throughout its expected service life.

A long-term, cost-effective solution:
Due to their high durability, these films are an economical choice for farmers seeking a cover that lasts for multiple seasons while reducing maintenance and replacement costs.

EVA Greenhouse Films

Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) films are used when lighting quality and temperature control within the greenhouse are essential for crop success:

High light transmittance:

The EVA structure allows a high percentage of beneficial light to pass through, especially the light used in photosynthesis, while also diffusing light within the greenhouse to reduce shadows and increase the efficiency of light distribution around the plants.

Improved thermal efficiency:
The thermal additives within EVA films help reduce heat loss during the night, minimizing sharp temperature fluctuations and reducing the impact of frost within the greenhouse.

Anti-condensation properties:
These films can be treated with materials that reduce water droplet formation, causing moisture to condense into a thin film that runs off the surface instead of dripping onto the plants. This reduces the chances of fungal diseases associated with high humidity. Excellent flexibility and ease of installation:
EVA films are characterized by high flexibility that allows them to be stretched on the greenhouse structure without cracking. They also withstand being disassembled and reassembled when necessary without damage. EVA films are an ideal choice for nurseries, flower cultivation, and crops sensitive to heat and climate changes inside greenhouses.

Technical Specifications

The technical specifications range for UPI greenhouse films has been developed in accordance with the needs of the modern agricultural market and the requirements for use in different climatic regions:

Available thicknesses

  • From 80 microns
  • Up to 250 microns

Available widths

  • Standard widths start at 4 meters.
  • Up to 14 meters.

Available colors

  • Transparent
  • Yellow

Possible addons:

  • UV stabilizers enhance the film’s resistance and extend its lifespan.
  • Infrared control materials help retain heat at night or reduce daytime heat gain.
  • A light diffuser improves light distribution within the greenhouse and minimizes harsh shadows.
  • Special additives reduce condensation and prevent water droplets from falling directly onto the plants.
  • Advanced materials reduce the transmission of certain light wavelengths associated with increased viral disease spread in plants.
